Aprender arquitectura

  • Eduardo Basurto

Abstract

This text deals with what teaching and learning architecture has implied in terms of time and space. It studies, from Vitrubio to Carlos Mijares, and including Norberg-Schulz, what the problems of teaching and learning architecture have been considered to be. It expresses what was once thought to be important in the formation of the architect and what has been lost today: imagination and creativity as didactic resources are basic to the formative process of every architect. Based on two examples of schools in history (the Bauhaus of Weimar and the one in Valparaiso, Ciudad Abierta), it talks about the need to return to the concept of school expressed as a collective impregnated with a philosophy, an ethos and a pedagogy which responds to the architectonic fact and the formation of architects.
