¿ Repensar la metrópoli? Una reflexión epistemológica

Abstract

All great Latin American metropolis have specific teatures, but they also share common problems, letting us arrive some generalizations. This paper refers mostly to the metropolitan area of Mexico City; here we explain the fragmentation of those disciplines which study the metropolitanprocesses, with consequences over the lack of theorethical –as well as “practical”– control. Moreover, the article shows the changes in the ideas and research related to the theme, as well as the tendency to assume the complex thought in order to get an integrated vision of the metropolitan-city that allows us to “rethink” it.
