Perspectiva de la Organización para la Cooperación y Desarrollo Económico (OCDE) sobre los procesos territoriales de México

  • Ángel Mercado Moraga

Abstract

The article analyses the territorial rocesses going on in Mexico from an OECD perspective, and to evaluate the role of such organization in the economic development of the country starting from its own principles and methods. The author’s proposal is to recentralize the territory inducing the 32 capital cities to act as a strategic national space before the centrifugal trends of globalization, and to include in the central region (the Federal District, Queretaro, Hidalgo, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Morelos and Mexico) the States of Guerrero and Veracruz, too, acting as links between the former and the international markets.
