Reflexiones en torno a la modernidad

Abstract

Some concepts that can clarify the extent of modernity as an historic category are revised, as well as the modernity concept related to historical urban research. The modernity theme has been extensively treated by divese authors and from very different spheres. In this article it is outlined the importance of two concepts: mobility and restriction. They group basic aspects of social and individual order, and its importance rests in its contribution to define the XIX Century as a modern one.
