Abstract

This article considers the definition of possibilities, using the architectural typology as a methodological and conceptual tool to identify, documentation and registry of the built heritage, in order to preserve it. This work analyzes te case of the town of Tlacotalpan, Veracruz, where architecture and urban studies were development and where typology was used as a structural mechanism. The typology that has been built with the information of the site involves several heritage scales, in order to identify the distinctive features, from the urban level to the constructive details. Therefore, it explains types of streets blocks, towns properties and houses with a description of the characteristically components and the goal of achievement its patrimonial assessment.
